Seven years ago, early in the afternoon, I was walking from Akihabara to Ueno. Suddenly I felt strange… walking was harder, as if I was drunk. Then I saw like ripples on the road, and heard a big noise. These were the buildings along Chuo dori shaking so hard that sometimes they bumped into each other. And then everything went super fast. People rushed out of those buildings and started gathering in the middle on the avenue. The police was quickly in action and stopped all traffic along Chuo dori, and directed everybody towards the closest evacuation ares, Ueno koen. Almost immediadely the telephone lines were saturated and did not work anymore. Trains were stopped, and taxis became rare. We had to walk back home, turn on the TV and learn what had just happen.
