Wakayama has many picturesque landscapes to offer. One of these natural landmarks is the Hashigui-Iwa rock formations in Kushimoto. The legend says that a monk tried to build a bridge to Oshima island, but a demon prevented him to do so, letting these “pillars” as sole remains of the aborted construction. Catching it at sunrise requires waking up very early, around 4 a.m, but the view is really worth it.
