About This Video
Just an hour away from the center of Tokyo in the Fuchu district, you will find the beautiful temple of Togo-ji (Togoji - 東郷寺). It was built to commemorate fleet Admiral Heihachiro Togo, who distinguished himself in the Russo-Japanese War. Togoji temple is actually located on the former villa site of Admiral Heihachiro Togo which is famous for its gorgeous gateway.
The gateway is one of Tokyo’s most beautiful sakura spots. It was the model for Akira Kurosawa’s film “Rashomon” and later used in the film “Bijo to Tozoku”.
