Nagano Suzaka Classic Museum - 長野県須坂クラシックミュージアム : Located half an hour by car from the snow monkeys of Jigokudani (https://www.tokyostreetview.com/videos/japanese-snow-monkeys-of-jigokudani/), Suzaka is a quaint historical town featuring a few museums like the “Nobutaka Oka Collection Suzaka Classic Museum” also known as the Suzaka Classic Museum.

Calling this place a “museum” is actually inaccurate and don’t expect too much, however if you always have been interested in visiting an empty Japanese mansion then this place will provide you with just that.

Entering this house is like entering into some kind of time vortex taking you back a few hundred years back into the past. While extremely cold in winter, this two storey house was in fact a pretty fancy place to live that only wealthy Japanese people could afford. Simple and quiet, but majestic in its way this mansion is a great example of past Japanese architecture and craftwork.
