About This Video
What makes the island of Sado truly a magical place is the diversity of its landscape. The nature here is an authentic Japanese experience that many visitors from around the world are looking for. One of the beautiful features of Sado is a breathtaking cedar forest.
To get to the cedar forest it will take a one hour drive from the Sado major port to arrive on top of one of the Ishina district mountains. There you will need another 15 minute walk to arrive at the entrance of its cedar forest. The view there is not only spectacular, but also therapeutic as the surrounding sounds of nature will wash away all your stress.
While the area is open to the public all year long, we would highly recommend you to visit the Osado Ishina Natural Cedar Forest before or after the rain when the whole area is covered by clouds, as it is, at least for us, the best way to enjoy this natural wonder!
