Mitake Gorge

Almost an hour away by car from Tokyo Center, Mitake is a small village resting on the banks of the Tama River. Quiet and peaceful all year long, Mitake and it’s gorgeous gorges turn during the month of November into a perfect postcard of what Japanese autumn colors are all about due to its many gingko and maple trees with their vivid golden and red leaves.
