Kawazu district in Shizuoka is not only famous for its gorgeous early blooming sakura, but also for its many onsens and gorgeous series of waterfalls named : Kawazu Seven Waterfalls. As you must have guessed, there is not one, but a series of seven different waterfalls in the area and along the Kawazu river.
These waterfalls are not always easily accessible and you will need to walk through a little mountain trail to enjoy them all. The most famous of them all is the majestic Odaru Waterfall. We’ll known for two reasons, first, this waterfall is around 30m tall, second, it is owned by a Ryokan and can be enjoyed while soaking in a nice outdoor onsen.
Please note that you’ll need to book in advance in order to enjoy the outdoor onsen facing the waterfall. Also if you are only interested in the waterfall, a platform that overlooks the area is accessible to all for free.
