常寂光寺
Kyoto Kansai Summer Daytime Temples & Shrines Historic Sites

About This Video

Jojakko-ji Temple stands on the slope of Mount Ogura in Kyoto’s Arashiyama district. The temple was founded in 1596 by Nisshin, head priest of Honkoku-ji.

Known for its twelve-metre pagoda and autumn foliage, Jojakko-ji is also rewarding outside peak season, when its wooded grounds provide a quieter side of Arashiyama.
