About This Video
Located in southern Kyoto, Fushimi Inari Taisha was established before the move of Japan’s capital to Kyoto in 794. It is the most important Japanese Shinto shrine dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice. Famous for its thousands of vermilion red Torii gates accessible 24/7 and leading into the forest of the sacred Mt Inari. Fushimi Inari Taisha is also largely known for its fox statues where foxes are thought to be Inari’s messengers.
