Wakayama produces a lot of wood, and has many waterways. Lumberjacks used them to bring fresh cut logs downstream, to their processing facilities. Today they propose to carry tourists on those logs (a tourist-friendly version, with seats and handrails) on the Kitayama river and its rapids. The ride takes 45 mn roughly and costs 6.000 JPY. Fun guaranteed !
