About This Window
Usuki Castle was originally constructed on a small island and later became an important fortified site overlooking the surrounding city.
Today, the former castle grounds are preserved as a public park. Visitors can still see surviving gates, stone walls and turrets, along with a small temple inside the historic grounds. Its elevated position also provides views across Usuki City.
Although little remains of the main castle structure, the site retains a quiet atmosphere and offers an accessible introduction to Usuki’s history and cultural heritage.
