Boarding a Shinkansen is always a pleasure. Even at peak season, with crowded platforms and lots of travelers to handle, JR manages to offer a smooth service. On the platform everybody waits in line, without complaining or trying to cut the line. Trains are always on time and clean (inside and outside); and the staff is always helpful and polite. Many European train operators should learn from the japanese way of managing this kind of services.
