The japanese summer is hot, and comes with very particular sounds as well: the furin (glass bells), the cicadas… and the music of Awa Odori. The biggest event is held in Koenji… but its popularity has a cost: it’s hard to enjoy the dances in decent conditions. I would two smaller ones instead: in Kagurazaka, or in Mitaka… much smaller, but here at least you can sit, enjoy a fresh beer… and the dancers.
