This picture was taken a few years ago. We were spending the weekend on the seaside in the Boso peninsula (Chiba). Sunday morning was a bit foggy, but calm and cool. I was on the beach, playing with my kids when suddenly we saw a “grandma” arriving on the beach, walking straight at the water. She was wearing an old fashioned wetsuit, and one of those antique round shaped diving mask. She stepped into the water, stopped a few seconds to put her fins on, and started swimming. She spent the whole morning in the sea, picking countless urchins and (probably) crabs. There’s definitely something unique with these supercharged japanese “obaasan” ! Gear used: Nikon D800 + 70-200 f/4

Lucky enough to have spent the last 6 years of my life in Tokyo, I spend a lot of time wandering through this always amazing city, a camera and a couple of lenses in my bag, mostly Nikon... for the time being.
